The research team at Handygo analyzed the need for providing Fisheries Advisory Services on IVR (Interactive Voice response) platform so that the fishermen can have easy and fast access to the Oceanic information. In order to provide information on the Coastal region, company has tie-up with INCOIS (Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services) to provide the best possible ocean information and advisory services to the fisherman on mobile phone. Fishermen from 8 States i.e. Gujrat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Orissa, Maharashtra, Kerala and Goa, can call on 55678, and get services related to:-
1) Potential fishing Zone- This information helps the fisherman to locate the zones/areas where the probability of finding fishes is more.
2) Wind Speed- The information on wind speed makes them aware of the direction and speed of wind from different coastal regions.
3) Wave height- This information enables the fisherman to know about the variations in height of waves over different set of distances from various nodes.
The data is obtained from available for 130 plus nodes within states and is provided in regional languages. With these services Handygo aims to help fisherman in reducing risk and increasing their productivity. This information is very dynamic in nature & are maintained at high accuracy level by Handygo in alliance with INCOIS.
